“V” Magazine and Marc Jacobs celebrated Lady Gaga and the launch of ” V61” at the Hiro Ballroom. Belvedere Vodka and MAC co-sponsored the packed Monday night after-party. Lady GaGa, “V” Magazine’s cover girl, performed for an energetic crowd of models and celebrities just one day after her memorable performance at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Lady Bunny
Lady Bunny, your favorite DJ in drag, welcomed the crowd with music as they entered, setting the tone for the evening. The excitement carried onto the dance floor as the crowd celebrated the night and the free vodka. While loud, packed and terribly hot inside, Hiro Ballroom’s many nooks and off-shoots provided plenty of opportunities to escape the chaos in order to sit, rest, and talk. As the night progressed, the excitement and temperature continued to increase in anticipation of Lady GaGa.

Lady GaGa
Eventually, Lady GaGa took to the stage wearing a red-laced, full-body one-piece. All in attendance roared their approval. With just herself and a piano, she played down-tempo renditions of “Poker Face”, and “Just Dance.” While brief, Lady GaGa’s performance showcased her vocal strength and command over an audience. She also solidified herself as an artist that continually pushes the boundaries of sexuality. Not surprisingly, she is viewed in the same light as Madonna was in the Eighties.
