CASITA MARIA FIESTA DOS MIL Y NUEVE, OLE! - Thursday, 10/22/2009 5:15 PM

The Casita Maria Center for the Arts and Education hosted Fiesta 2009. The black tie dinner/dance at the Mandarin Hotel honored Adrienne Arsht, Lorenza Dipp de Torres-Lample and Nancy Gonzalez for their continued involvement in the organization and their dedication to strengthening Hispanic communities in New York.

Casita Maria is a non-profit whose mission is to provide youth with the tools they need to achieve academically, become artists and creative problem solvers, provide families with the opportunities to explore their communities with the visual and performing arts. Currently, the organization’s programs include a wide range of in-school and after-school programs, a community referral center, special summer camps and internships for predominantly Hispanic communities in the South Bronx and East Harlem.

This year’s Fiesta 2009 Dinner celebration, chaired by Jacqueline Weld Drake, Aileen Mahle and H.R.H. Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia, congratulated all those involved with the non-profit’s successes over the last year, such as a new Casita Maria building in the South Bronx, and its continued success in the future.

Guests in attendance included Maggie Rodriguez, Daisy Soros, Paul Soros, Mario Buatta, Jean Shafiroff, Gabrielle Rivera, Christian Cota, Lauren Goodman, Robert Verdi, Peter Rockefeller, Allison Rockefeller, Gillian Miniter, Jamee Gregory, Jose Maria, Alexandra Trullols and Valerie Foster.
