October has been a busy month for designer Naeem Khan. He spent the first two weeks in India, designing a wedding dress for the December San Francisco nuptials of Google Vice President Marissa Mayer. His return stateside has found him no less busy. On October 13th, he played host to a bevy of his favorite women to kickoff the Alzheimer's Association Rita Hayworth Gala at his new boutique in Saks Fifth Avenue.

Muffie Potter Aston, Andrea Stark, Hilary and Bryant Gumbel, Somers Farkas, Gala Chair Alexandra Lebenthal, and Gala founder Yasmin Aga Khan were among the ladies who toasted the designer and the charity. "I love these women," gushed Khan, who has been involved with the Gala for over 5 years and counts Aga Khan as one of his "best friends." The event, themed "So Near & Yet So Far," will take place this Tuesday in the Waldorf=Astoria Grand Ballroom.

As if that weren't enough to keep Mr. Khan busy, he also spent this month launching his new line, "Timeless by Naeem Khan," for the Home Shopping Network. On October 20th, friends and tastemakers the likes of Colin Cowie, Nate Berkus, Fern Mallis, Antony Todd, and HSN CEO Mindy Grossman gathered in Khan's spiffy 36th Street studio to toast the designer's new line and admire the looks, styled by fashion veteran Mary Alice Stephenson.

It is a holiday line, so the looks were appropriately festive: Glittery flapper-esque cocktail dresses and separates with hard edged shoes, courtesy of Aldo. While the clothes are made in the same factories in India as Khan's main lines, the prices top out at about $450. It is about making "glamour available to the masses," Khan told me. And speaking of availability, Khan's line will officially go on sale this Wednesday, October 28th at 8pm LIVE on HSN.
