M.A.C. alice + olivia - Thursday, 7/15/2010 1:37 PM

On Tuesday night at Beauty Bar, M.A.C. and alice + olivia celebrated their collaboration with a new Stacey Bendet collection eye product. The mission was to come up with a formula to reproduce the perfect "smokey eyes" look, which if done correctly is sexy and seductive but if done incorrectly can come off as "just got smacked in the face or my friends never told me how to put make up on" look. But if you're going for that, it can work. Take Courtney Love for example, although I don't think that was the makeup because she most likely had actually just gotten in a fight, all the time. Well anyway this new line of products (I will now quote New York Fashion because this goes just beyond my area of expertise) "brings three new loose-powder pigment pots to your after-work palette. The black Later shade has a deep-violet sheen (setting it apart from MAC's gold-flecked Dark Soul shade), while the pinky-pearl If It Sparkles shadow is ideal for blending. Both concentrated colors brush on smoothly for perfecting that alluring, straight-from-the runway look." Amazing. Music was provided by DJ Chelsea Leyland and others in attendance included Jill Flint, Amy Fine Collins, Kelly Bensimon, Jenne Lombardo, John Demsey, Becka Diamond, Gigi Stone and of course Emma Snowdon-Jones, oh Emma.
