BENRIMON Contemporary Celebrates Artist TREY SPEEGLE with a Private Rooftop Dinner & Cocktail Reception - Thursday, 12/2/2010 5:13 PM

On Tuesday, November 30, Benrimon Contemporary hosted an intimate dinner and cocktail party at Townhouse Hotel during Art Basel Miami Beach honoring New York Artist Trey Speegle and his latest large-scale mural It’s Later than You Think that was inspired by a 1950’s vintage paint-by-number panel of Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper. Dinner guests, which included gallerist Leon Benrimon, Lillian and David Benrimon, photographer Patrick McMullan, Heidi Lee, Lady Monika Bacardi, writer Fred Bernstein, Tara Solomon, Nick D’Annunzio, Jose Ortiz, Maile Rodriguez and book publishers Petra Mason and husband Ausbert de Arce, were each given a brush and paint canister that corresponded to a number on the mural and invited to paint on the canvas, under the careful eye of the artist and gallery assistants, of course. After dinner guests were invited upstairs to the rooftop to enjoy Henrick’s Gin cocktails and view more works by Speegle and artists Simon Patterson, Shay Kun, Changha Hwang, Amanda Burnham, Dimitri Kozyrev and Yoram Wolberger, who are also represented by Benrimon Contemporary.
