Sporting Coney Island Comes to the Hamptons as its theme, the 12th Annual Love Heals, hosted by Hilary Rhoda, Mary Alice Stephenson and Peter Davis, was decidedly different this year. No stone left un-turned, this annual true labor of love offered dinner, dancing and excitement, all rolled into one. With 600 guests and 300,000 dollars raised this year, the fundraiser is one of the most significant Hamptons summer events. Love Heals honors the memory of Allison Gertz, who fell victim to AIDS in 1992. Via the Allison Gertz Foundation, millions of children are educated and empowered in the fight against HIV. This evening, guests arrived at the giant tented venue promptly at 7:30 pm and were welcomed by chilled flutes of Moet & Chandon Rosè. To the right of the entrance was a simulated photo booth for authentic looking Coney Island photos with a fake roller coaster car that allowed you and a guest to sit in it with a fake backdrop, courtesy of Patron Tequila. To the right, a luxurious silent auction set up with items for all ages, ranging from a Gossip Girl Set Tour to an Exhale Mind Body Spa Package to NY Yankees Tickets. Additional treats included: a popcorn cart, carnival games and a a dedicated Margarita Bar, sponsored by Patron, offering Citron, grapefruit, and Lime Margaritas.

Early arrivals included Co-Host Peter Davis, who enjoyed an early bite with Designer friend, Miguelina Gambaccini. The dapper Davis, serving for a second year in a row as host, was the quintessential MC, as he was quick to address arriving guests, welcoming them with open arms. Davis' arrival was soon followed by Co-Host and Estée Lauder Spokesmodel Hilary Rhoda, who we snagged just before the onslaught of photographers. We asked her how she became involved this year and she shared, "I've been coming to this event, I was here last year and I'm good friends with Mary Alice and her friend Dini Von Mueffling, who is one of the Founders of this amazing cause and she sent an email. I think it's great, passing along the knowledge of AIDS to young people." Last to arrive was Co-Host Mary Alice Stephenson, the Style & Fashion Expert and one time Fashion Editor, looking lovely in a Naeem Khan original. She, like Mr. Davis, was thrilled to be co-hosting again for the worthy cause. Over the event's annual crowd pleaser, DeForest Gibb barbeque, guests laughed, talked and caught up on summer happenings. Everyone, from Founders Dini Von Mueffling and Victoria Leacock Hoffman (who happily posed with guests for photos and thanked them for their unwavering support), to the true Hamptons elite began to arrive: Russell Simmons, Andrew Saffir and Daniel Benedict, Sonja Morgan, Sessa Von Richthofen, Ann Caruso, NHL Hockey great Sean Avery and others.

Celeb DJ, DJ M.O.S., mixed it with everything from funky lounge beats to Top 40 faves near the VIP area. Much of the crowd remained until the final 10:30-11:00 PM half hour. Desserts, by CRUMBS Bakeshop, filled the hands and mouths of many as they excited after an incredible evening. See you next year.
