New year, new crowd for the 13th Annual Love Heals at Luna Farm. The event, benefiting AIDS education via the Alison Gertz Foundation, took place on Saturday, July 7th in Sagaponack and drew an eclectic crowd. The large tent loomed over the crowd of 650 people with a fresh new set-up that allowed guests easier access to the intimate dance floor.
The Saturday night soiree raised $300,000.
Hosts Hilary Rhoda, Charlotte Ronson, Andrew Saffir and Daniel Benedict were front and center. Early on, we spoke casually with Andrew Saffir, who beamed that he has attended the event over the years as a guest, but as a host, he had the honor of extending the invite to many, many friends.
What an evening it was! Those who came with their checkbooks and credit cards took advantage of the silent auction, that offered items such as a Wolfer Estate Vineyard Package, a Rebecca Minkoff bag and a Dylan's Candy Bar basket. Those who came with their appetites munched on famed DeForrest Gibbs BBQ, scrumptious sides, and Nathan's hot dogs. The glam set, interested in staying cool with liquid treats, availed themselves of the Patron Mojito bar and popsicle stand. featured were fresh summertime cocktails from Patron, such as the Patron Birthday Splash, Luna Farm Refresher and Healing Touch.

Much of the crowd was captivated by the sounds of Celeb DJ Kiss. We perused the crowd for familiar faces. It had been several years since we'd spoken to Designer Charlotte Ronson, who is currently at work on her Spring 2013 collection. Ronson shared, in regards to her presence at the event: "I'm always involved whenever I can. It just happened that it was a big year--the 20th Anniversary (year), so I just wanted to be a part of it."
Noteworthy VIP guests included: supermodel Nicole Trunfio, pianist Chloe Flower, designer Rebecca Minckoff, Rodale’s David Zinczenko, news anchor Chris Wragge, Peter Davis, Kelly Delaney, Richard Farley, Stephanie Hirsch, Richard Johnson and Sessa von Richtofen, Scott Lipps, Avis Richards, Teresa Sorkin, Martin and Nina Varsavsky, Eric Villency, and Niche Media’s Samantha Yanks, among others. Alison Gertz’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jerrold Gertz, were also in attendance.
Sweet treats came at the end of the night, courtesy of Georgetown Cupcakes: Red velvet with cream cheese frosting, chocolate with peanut butter frosting and chocolate topped with vanilla butter cream. Each were placed at various stations under the tent for all to enjoy.
Attendees departed Luna Farm with lovely gift bags stuffed with goodies, courtesy of Scoop. Items included a specialty article of clothing from Scoop, Vitamin Water, Pop Chips, Vincent Longo Cosmetics, a dozen of Georgetown cupcakes, and MORE.
