I had to get up at 7AM to get to the Four Seasons Restaurant for the 8:30AM start-time of the giant Power Chick Chin-wag I knew/hoped would be worth the snooze sacrifice. Poor Nick lives god-knows where, so he had to arise at 6AM…poor dear.

I recall the long-ago beginnings of this event. It began back in the mid 1990’s when P.R. genius Jonathan Marder promoted Harry Evans (then head of Random House) holding court on a small stage in the middle of the restaurant at Barney’s as four people nattered on about some author.
