The NYC elite got together on the 19 the of february for a private screening of CHOW DOWN. Dressed up in anti fur pins and faux leather, a select few were gathered to be in the know. All huddled together at the Tribeca Grand theatre we all gave our consciousness over to the awareness of health and wellness. The hope is to convert NYC meat eaters and vegetarians to full blown vegans. Focusing on the health issues of the modern American we followed the lives of the select few that said No to the industry of modern medicine and surgery and Yes to a healthy lifestyle. These high risk individuals proved that a healthy diet based in the principals of vegan thinking have prevented these dangerous procedures from taking place. These survivors went against the "Band-Aids" of modern medicine and took a stand to go beneath what is being advertised ... Read More

Mind/Spirit
- Let me know if you recognize this scenario, in your
relationship. The guy gets mad at girl for: getting mad at him (or vice versa!) The person who gets mad first is actually the one that deserves the explanation. It should be dropped after that no tit for tat. There should be nothing wrong with expressing if something rubbed you the wrong way, no need to lash out with passive aggression… at least try to keep it to a minimum. Pick your battles! no need to waste a fight over something small. Continue asking, why questions; if you are the innocent one and you didn’t do anything wrong, soon you will get to the root of the issue. why should you get angry and act mean to someone, who was rubbed the wrong way by you?

Stay innocent, if you are...

BODY/MIND-SPIRIT
When it comes to working out in the gym a lot of people have the misconception that lifting weights make you appear bulky. This is not true. If you are keeping within your daily caloric range and you are lifting weights along with your aerobic routine you are going to tone up not bulk up. I split up my routine into one large body part with one smaller body part throughout the week. For example I would do chest with shoulders, back with biceps and legs with triceps. I choose two different exercises for the small body parts (shoulders, biceps, triceps) and three different exercises for the large body parts (chest, back, legs). Four sets each (sets are the amount of times you repeat the same exercise). I also try to keep the repetitions (the amount of time you actually pump the weight out) down to eight to twelve times. Some people think that the more repetitions you do the ... Read More

Mind-
I am very interested in the art of conversation being that I am a writer, communications major and just a social person. I feel it is important to first ask questions before responding to what was said. Finding out why a question was asked and where a person is first coming from gives background on why something is being discussed. Not everyone is intuitive enough to know what you mean, so explaining yourself along with your statements could also be important to showing a person where you are coming from instead of giving a blanket statement. Certain people do not feel the need to explain themselves because they are either trying to remain mysterious, think they are being obvious or so popular that everyone should already know who they are. In my opinion we as humans are constantly getting to know ourselves in a changing world as well as ... Read More

1-MIND
In today's fast paced world, the warmth of Communication and conversation is often lost in a sea of txt messages, emails and phone calls; Often people are too overwhelmed to even respond. Lets face it most times we don't even expect a response, an email can be like casting a fishing line out into a sea, and even if you feel a tug that doesn't mean you caught a fish.
A lot of the time it can feel like you are having a conversation with yourself. Sometimes in conversation people are not looking for a response but rather an ear, there is a huge difference between hearing someone and really listening.

Hey wow, Thank You to everyone who has given me so much support, I will continue writing because it gives me great joy to help people and to share my advice. I don't expect every one of my blogs will get the attention my first one did, Like a Guest of a Guest write up but I will keep on writing just for myself.

What many of my friends know already is; I find it hard to keep my mouth shut when I think that something I could tell someone would help them lead a happier and healthier life. Not everyone wants to hear that they should change, Now that I have a soap box hopefully I will reach more people who realize that we, just like every other living and non living thing on earth, are ... Hello, My name is Aesha Waks. I just graduated form NYU with a BS in communications, and I have always wanted to do something with my life that would help people. My friends are always asking me for advice and I figured that since some questions come up time and time again it would be good to have a place people could go for 24 hour advice, and I figured it might as well be found in a place people go everyday anyway (patrickmcmullan.com).

All of our emotions and issues stem from our surroundings and as we are all constantly surrounded by the Rich and Famous (If not at a gala then on the cover of a magazine). I felt it necessary to approach these issues from a certain stance. Being both an Actress and a Musician... Read More
