It was a great day to turn 100 Thursday night for 200 Fifth Ave. The historic building has seen wars, a depression, a bunch of Championships and Plaxico. But overall it's been a great hundred years, and guests came out to celebrate with a cake made in it's likeness and the opportunity to preview the spectacular $135 million historic restoration. L& L Holding Company’s brilliantly transformed office building, situated directly across from Madison Square Park, has already won a handful of design honors, including the prestigious AIA New York Chapter 2010 Architect Merit Award.


In addition, the building, the former International Toy Center, is today one of the most prestigious office destinations in the city. Mary J. Blige and Catherine Malandrino came together last night at the Museum of Modern Art to raise money to benefit FFAWN (Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now). The Malandrino + FFAWN collection pays homage to iconic moments in fashion and music with images such as Tina Turner, Al Green, Chaka Kahn, Donna Summer and Grace Jones, with studded leather jackets, high-waist wide-leg pants, cool jersey t-shirts and caftans. FFAWN was Created, founded, and funded in 2007 by singing sensation Mary J. Blige and music marketing mogul Steve Stoute.
