Alternative Apparel is exactly what its name implies — an alternative to the conventional clothing company. The brand jumped on the green wave when it was a mere trickle, and it’s now on the front lines of the organic revolution. And the young people are getting the message — they were out and dressed to kill for Alternative Apparel’s party at the Hudson Hotel last Tuesday.

Gallery season is upon us, and last week I went to one of the first in what I am sure will be a long procession of well-curated shows. This particular show
has a larger purpose than just displaying art. The PARC Foundation presented
an exhibition by Invisible Children called INVISIBLE: FROM DARKNESS TO SIGHT.
It was a walk through what it's like to be a child soldier in Uganda, where
Africa's longest-running war still rages.

'Tis the season to start loading up on books for Christmas presents, apparently, as I went to yet another book launch party last week. However, Indochine's 25th-anniversary book (Indochine: Stories, Shaken and Stirred) launch wasn't your average little cocktail party. What do you expect from a party in honor of Jean-Marc Houmard's Indochine?
