By now you’ve seen enough photos from the Met Gala that you can probably recite from memory who wore what. The after-party at the Top of the Standard — also known as the Boom Boom Room — provided a whole different look at the glamorous attendees. André Balazs’s latest penthouse club is quite the change of scenery from the Met, in both location and atmosphere. I knew it would be the only place in town to be after the ball.

Yesterday I got a sneak peek at the Estée Lauder Companies’ latest ad campaign to fight breast cancer. I also got to see Estée’s old townhouse, which has been in the family for nearly 50 years and is rarely seen. Which is a crying shame — the place is a beaut!

The Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation, the only public charity whose sole mission is to rapidly accelerate the discover and development of Drugs to prevent, treat and cure Alzheimer's disease, related dementias and cognitive again, held their 2010 Gala Thursday evening at Sotheby's. The fourth Annual Connoisseur's Dinner celebrated wine, art and the foundation's efforts towards discovering a cure for Alzheimer's, with an exclusive preview of impressionist and modern art. Established in 2004 the foundation's strategy of venture philanthropy is based on the idea that their research grant recipients are engaged in projects that are potentially viable in the marketplace with a possible return on investment. In attendance were Nancy Corzine, Evelyn Lauder, Leonard Lauder, Jamie Niven, Nancy Lynn, Sherry Lynn, Dennis Basso, Ophelia Rubin and Beatrice duPont.
