Break out your ball gowns and penguin suits, because the Harmony Program presented "A Winter's Waltz" on March 15, 2010 at The Pierre in NYC (2 East 61st Street NYC 10065). Guests were invited to an elegant evening of live music and dancing to benefit the Harmony Program, a nonprofit dedicated to providing intensive music instruction to students of New York City's public schools. With a near full moon hanging in the distance, guests gathered on top of the Standard (848 Washington St NYC 10014, 212.645.4646) on March 1, 2010 for the Details 10th Anniversary Party. With chinchona and margarita cocktails by Patron and the musical stylings of David Abitbol (aka DJ Japanster) the party was quickly off to a good start. Around 9:45pm a hush passed through the crowd as Robin Thicke made his way to the piano to sing, among other things, happy birthday. A ceremony at Clodagh Designs (670 Broadway NYC 10012) was held on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 to celebrate the appointment of Meera Gandhi as a Centenary Councillor for the UK's Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID). The occasion was hosted by Philip Bonn, RNID's Centenary Director, who made a special trip to the US from England for the occasion. RNID is currently the UK's largest charity with many honorable partners. Meera Gandhi recently founded The Giving Back Foundation and completed a film called "Giving Back" featuring Patricia Valazquez, Kerry Kennedy, Clodagh, Vikram Gandhi, Steven Rockefeller and Viveck Vaswani. At La Perla's Fall 2010 presentation on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the Lehmann Maupin Gallery, hauté couture was on display and haute coture looked damn good. Crewcuts & The Wildlife Conservation Society celebrated the publication of Mimi's Shoes at J.Crew's adorable children's store, On Wednesday, December 16, 2009. Crewcuts-on-Madison housed a colorful crowd of different hairstyles from all ages. Juice boxes, kid friendly hors d'oeuvres, and of course, "special" cocktails for the big people (...shhh, don't tell the kiddies). During the event, hosted by Lara Glazier, Paige Hardy, Juliette Janssens, Kelly Mallon and Evelyn Popp, with 15% off all purchases, and a percentage of sales was donated to the WCS, it was a holiday sale that gave everyone some xmas cheer.

On Sunday, December 13, 2009, The ASPCA and Cindy Adams hosted Blessing of the Animals at the epic Christ Church in Manhattan. The crowd of pet enthusiasts gathered to celebrate the holiday season with Ms. Adams and her two adorable Yorkies, Jazzy and Juicy, and Police Commissioner Ray Kelly held a special outdoor service for the city's police horses and service animals. The ceremony honored New York City's furry companions, that enrich the lives of so many New Yorkers each day. Although the service was free for admission, owners were asked to keep their friendly compatriots in carriers or on a leash.

On Sunday December 13, 2009, PEN Edmont held its second annual fund-raising event to support PEN's literary programming for young people at the west side's salon-pub Half King Bar. An intelli-chic crowd of writers, artists, musicians and intellectuals gathered to celebrate and raise a glass for the season, as they were treated to a story from Sebastian Junger (The Perfect Storm), poems by Jacqueline Jones La Mon and a musical performance by Sophie Auster & Barry Reynolds.

On Thursday, December 10, 2009 Chat Noir owner Suzanne Latapie, Image Guru Montgomery Frazier and Sfumato Artist Management's Tia Walker hosted Afternoon Delights Holiday Show, a private viewing and sale for designers Ariane Zurcher and Maggie Norris at the Upper Eastside's cozy-chic Bistro Chat Noir. Guests piled in to witness Ariane Zurcher's Transitions Collection and the Maggie Norris Spring 2010 Collection including Somers Farkas, who came to support Norris, sporting the designer's revamped classic Admiral Jacket. On Tuesday, December 8, 2009, Volunteers of America celebrated "A New York Winter's Eve", its 14th Annual Gala, with an evening of delectable dining, fine wines and exciting live and silent auctions at the classic Plaza Grand Ballroom. Guests gathered to honor Scott Stringer, the Germano Family, Amherst Securities Group LP and JPMorgan Chase for their constant and dedicated support of communities and those in need. On Monday, December 7, 2009, Sony Pictures Classics & The Cinema Society hosted a screening of The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. The film is a fantastical morality play depicting the tale of Dr. Parnassus, who finds himself fighting to save the life of his daughter when his dealings with the devil threaten her freedom. The star studded film, written and directed by Terry Gilliam (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Monty Python & the Quest for the Holy Grail), features Johnny Depp, Heath Ledger, Jude Law, Colin Farrell, Christopher Plummer, Lily Cole, Verne Troyer and Tom Waits, many of whom attended the screening.
