Last night at Cinema 2 Director Oliver Stone, screenwriters Tariq Ali & Mark Weisbrot and producer Fernando Sulichin celebrated the screening of their new documentary titled South of the Border. There’s a revolution underway in South America, but most of the world doesn’t know it. Oliver Stone sets out on a road trip across five countries to explore the social and political movements as well as the mainstream media’s misperception of South America while interviewing seven of its elected presidents. In casual conversations with Presidents Hugo Chávez (Venezuela), Evo Morales (Bolivia), Lula da Silva (Brazil), Cristina Kirchner (Argentina), as well as her husband and ex-President Néstor Kirchner, Fernando Lugo (Paraguay), Rafael Correa (Ecuador), and Raúl Castro (Cuba), Stone gains unprecedented access and sheds new light upon the exciting transformations in the region.

In the heart of the financial district, KiptonART + New York City Ballet's Young Patrons Circle celebrated young artists, the 5 year anniversary of KiptonART.com and NYC Ballet's 'Dance With The Dancers' June Benefit Kick-Off for the opening "Fine Future Perfect." DJ Francesco Civetta provided music throughout the 2,200 square foot ground floor retail space at 75 Wall Street for the launch of the newest KiptonART "Access" space curated by Stephen Frailey.  The exhibition's theme "Fine Future Perfect" collects a group of young photographers and video artists whose work, while not specifically motivated as a depiction of the future, proposes a template for that which is forthcoming.  Their sensibility is buoyant, luminous, and playful, without the weight of place and with shifting identity.  Straddling genres of portraiture, still life, and fashion, the work together forms a portfolio of clarity, purpose and optimism.
