Success for Kids drew an impressively large crowd last evening at Stone Rose Lounge, the swank watering hole located at Time Warner Center, Columbus Circle. The benefit fundraiser allowed some of the city's brightest young professionals to watch the sun set over Central Park as they networked and mingled in support of NYC kids. Sponsored by Jaguar and the Gerber Group, SFK was founded in 2001 to address the urgent need around the world for an intervention program for children whose daily circumstances result in feelings of anguish, hopelessness, and worthlessness that often manifest in adverse behaviors.

On Monday October 4th, Robert Rigby Hall, Sr. VP and Chief Human Resources Officer at Lexis Nexis welcomed NYC Gala Committee Members and friends to the Midtown East home of Cathy Hardwick for her Kick Off Party for Somaly Mam Foundation Hearts and Hands Gala.

Over Totus Tuus Champagne, white wine and Hors d' oeuvres supporters were introduced to Nobel Prize Winning activist and human trafficking survivor Somaly Mam. Ms. Mam, a survivor of the Khmer regime in Cambodia, thanked all involved with the upcoming Hearts and Hands Gala.  Ms. Mam introduced 20 year-old survivor Somrna, telling the story of her escape from unspeakable practices in child sex trafficking in her native country. Somrna in turn expressed her profound thanks and gratitude for the assistance, education and safety that she has experienced in New York City.
