On Monday, December 7, 2009, Sony Pictures Classics & The Cinema Society hosted a screening of The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. The film is a fantastical morality play depicting the tale of Dr. Parnassus, who finds himself fighting to save the life of his daughter when his dealings with the devil threaten her freedom. The star studded film, written and directed by Terry Gilliam (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Monty Python & the Quest for the Holy Grail), features Johnny Depp, Heath Ledger, Jude Law, Colin Farrell, Christopher Plummer, Lily Cole, Verne Troyer and Tom Waits, many of whom attended the screening. Also making an appearance were Moby, Billy Connolly and Adam Duritz.

On Tuesday, December 8, 2009, the Milk Gallery celebrated the launch of a gallery exhibit showcasing Sante D'Orazio, who recently released "Barely Private", the sequel to his debut "A Private View". Guests were treated to Solerno Blood Orange Bellinis as they perused the gallery. Among the many faces patched together in provocative collage were Angelina Jolie, Brooke Shields, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, Christina Aguilera, Diane Kruger, Mickey Rourke, Keith Richards, and Liz Hurley. In the photo-diary-scrapbook, each photo is framed with candid, handwritten observations by the author. The exhibit will be open to the public through January 5th, 2010.

On Sunday, December 6, 2009, The Cinema Society and Bing hosted a screening of "A Single Man". The drama tells the story of an English professor who, after the sudden death of his partner, goes about a single day in L.A. searching for meaning in his life.  The highly anticipated release, slated for Febuary 2010 in Australia, is the writing/directorial debut for designer Tom Ford and has received critical acclaim. The film stars Colin Firth, Julianne Moore and Nicholas Hoult. Also at the screening were Courtney Love, Rita Wilson, Rose Byrne, Madonna, Lou Reed, Gina Gershon, Padma Lakshmi and Kevin Bacon.

On Thursday, December 3, 2009, Début New York threw a party to kick off the holiday sale at their chic boutique on Manhattan's Lower East Side. Friends and customers were served an intriguingly delightful combination of champagne and hand rolled pretzels created by east village's native Sigmund Pretzel Shop. Host Freddie Fackelmayer introduced Manhattan-based designer Mandy Coon, one of the select designers featured in the boutique's upcoming Spring 2010 collection. Guests were almost as delighted to celebrate and ring in the holiday spirit as the adorable puppy who joined the party!
