Three of my favorite things — pizza, beer, and a fashion line with a charitable edge — all came together Wednesday night to launch Edun’s new “Grow to Sew” Collection at Barneys. “Grow to Sew” is “inspired by the vibrancy of South Africa,” with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Conservation Cotton Initiative (CCI) in Uganda, an organic-farming program created by Edun, the Wildlife Conservation Society, and Invisible Children to build sustainable organic-farming communities and provide a fair-trade market for their cotton. The collection mostly comprised the softest tees this side of the equator, the kind that become keepers in any girl’s wardrobe.
