Guests came out to the MoMA last night for the premiere of Oscilloscope Laboratories' ground breaking documentary, A Film Unfinsihed. A Film Unfinished begins with archival footage of daily life in 1942 among the Jewish population of the doomed Warsaw ghetto. On Monday night at the MoMA and Michael's in New York guests came together for the premiere of The Weinstein Company's The Tillman Story. When Pat Tillman gave up his professional football career to join the Army Rangers in 2002, he became an instant symbol of patriotic fervor and unflinching duty. But the truth about Pat Tillman is far more complex, and ultimately far more heroic, than the caricature. And when the government tried to turn his death into propaganda, they took on the wrong family. From her home in Northern California, Pat’s mother, Dannie Tillman, led the family’s crusade to reveal the truth beneath the mythology of their son’s life and death. THE TILLMAN STORY resounds with emotion and insight, and goes beyond an indictment of the government to touch on themes as timeless as the notion of heroism itself. In attendance were Amir Bar-lev, John Battsek, ... Read More

Intermix "Turned it Up" last night at Skylight West with a live performance by Locksley and Deluka. Dreams of opening a store where shoppers could browse all of fashion’s high-end spectrum in one place led brothers Khajak and Haro Keledjian to open Intermix in 1993. Since then, its huge success has spurred four more New York locations from the West Village to the Upper East Side. As its name suggests, Intermix provides a wide-range of the latest European and American fashion styles with smaller fashion-forward labels like LaRok, Mint, and Ya Ya hanging on the rack next to some of the industry’s biggest names—Chloe, DVF, and Michael Kors. The stock ranges from bags and boots to denim and dresses but since the stores are relatively small the selection within each label (or trend) runs shallow, so grab it while you can.

Last night at Ampersand Studios in NYC, Russell Simmons and Macy's celebrated the launch of Argyleculture with a reception and preview. Simmons brought his “argyle” style to fashion’s forefront with his Fall 2010 menswear presentation of ARGYLECULTURE. The brand, which is sold at Macy’s, mixes maturity, success and stability with hints of soul, pride and individuality. Essentially the counterpart to Simmons’ first foray into fashion, the hugely successful Phat Farm line, the collection commemorates class, stature and respect achieved by the “Urban Graduate”- the man over the age of 25 who has "arrived" and is beginning to fulfill their dreams both personally and professionally. The Fall 2010 collection infuses original urban concepts with buttoned-up styling of men’s professional attire, including suits, argyle vests, zip-up sweaters, plaid oxfords, polos, and denims of different washes. Guests included Courtney Love, Danielle Abreu, Linda Oliver, Nicole Miller and ... Read More

Anne Hearst McInerney and Jay McInerney hosted a party Sunday in Water Mill, NY for Taylor Plimpton to celebrate his new book, Notes From the Night. Passionately engaged and endlessly curious, Plimpton is part participant, part observer, a student and uniquely apt chronicler of human behavior--particularly at its most absurd. Accompanied by his best friend Zoo and a tight-knit band of other mischief-makers, and fueled by drinks, drugs and big dreams, Plimpton journeys from one Manhattan hotspot to the next with boundless energy and an eye for the dark, often comic realities of club culture. Exploring the myriad pleasures, mysteries and pitfalls of that elusive world, Notes from the Night is guide to a place ― and a state of mind ― that has never been mapped. Last night at the legendary Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City, Columbia Pictures presented the world premiere of The Other Guys, with Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg and the love of my life Eva Mendes. The movie is about New York City detective Allen Gamble (Ferrell) who is more comfortable pushing pencils than busting bad guys. A meticulous forensic accountant, his numbers are never off. Detective Terry Hoitz (Wahlberg) is Gamble's reluctant partner. Try as Detective Hoitz might to get back on the streets, an embarrassing encounter with Derek Jeter has left a sizable black mark on his permanent record. Detectives Danson (Dwayne Johnson) and Highsmith (Samuel L. Jackson) are the complete opposites of Gamble and Hoitz: unwaveringly confident, they always get their man, and they do it with style to spare. When the time comes for Gamble and Hoitz to prove their mettle and save the ... Read More
