From what I have seen so far this week, I think Katie Gallagher is my favorite designer at Fashion Week. I do not think that I am any sort of a fashion critic, or that I know anything really about fashion. I don't understand influence or neuance in a traditional sense of pulling from different era's and artistic backgrounds. But I don't care. What I like about her outfits is this: they are sexy and the designs are ballsy, and not just for the sake of being ballsy and sexy. Her outfits and sketches are gracefully dark and when you actually sit back and analyze every part of them, they are really amazing. They are, however, not appropriate for church, or work (depending, of course, on profession), a doctors visit or the first time you meet your significant others parents. But, they are wonderfully intimidating and sometimes frightening. A+ ... Read More

Bono and his wife Ali's label, Edun, operates under the premise that great things are born out of desire for change and Edun was created to spark change in the way we feel about our clothes. Because of this their mission has been to encourage trade with Africa and celebrate the possibilities and the people of the continent. They partnered with Made Africa to produce a series of tees that brought to life the drawings of children in Kenya, of which all the proceeds went back to fund basic needs like lunches at the Bidii School. In Uganda they helped start The Conservation Cotton Initiative which provides sustainable farming communities and a fair trade market for their cotton. The mission is not only to create beautiful clothing, but to create an impact through the art of fashion. Their 2011 Spring/Summer show was consistent with their usual organic tones and materials ... Last night on the eighth floor of Saks Fifth Avenue, guests converged on the Sergio Rossi Shoe Lounge so celebrate Fashion's Night Out and the premiere of a couple new shoe models. Creative Director and shoemaker, Francesco Russo was on hand along with rock princesses Alexandra and Theodora Richards, who offered a little bit of fashion advice to FNO shoppers. Other draws at the event were the appearance of two exclusively signed Sergio Rossi shoes—the over-the-knee Chelsea boot, which made its debut Tuesday on the FNO runway at Lincoln Center, and the stunning peep-toe stiletto Cachet. It was a shoe lover’s ultimate chance to indulge, and all against the backdrop of fresh beats spun by DJ and Vogue.com photographer Rachel Chandler.

With everything else in New York City, there is "the" party, then there is "THE PARTY." You might think they sound the same but one is clearly spelled larger than the other. Every year Bergdorf is " THE PARTY," they turn their store into play lands for the fashionably elite every year and let them run wild. Starting at four p.m. guests were treated to complementary beauty services featuring top of the line products. At seven guests were able to meet with Jason Wu, who signed his exclusive FNO doll, Michael Bastian, who signed FNO t-shirts and Thom Browne signed his limited edition hand-dyed shirts. Later Tom Ford was signing fragrances and Lipstick. If that wasn't enough they had the chance to meet Sarah Jessica Parker. AND, if that wasn't enough, guests got the chance to meet Victoria Beckham. So, if you run a store and ... Read More

Dasha Zhukova, editor-in-chief of Pop magazine, threw one of the "it" parties to be at last night at Don Hill's that featured a performance by Iggy Pop. Guests, including Chloe Sevigny, Adrian Grenier, Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani, went out in true fashion, mixing edge and "hip" that defined the majority of the crowd. And as is the case with all Iggy Pop performances, last nights was as disturbingly beautiful and exciting as the rest. He's basically that man preserved in amber. Other guests included Leigh Lezark, Nicky Hilton and Becka Diamond.

Mr. West is in the BUUUIIIIILDING! That is right ladies and gentlemen. Hip hop sensation, twitter ranter, award show crashing, fashion forward producer Kanye West sat front and center for 3.1 Phillip Lim men's 2011 spring/summer show. Rockin' shades and a casual suit, Kanye enjoyed the styles of Lim who states the inspiration as "The boys being part bourgeoisie, part rugged. They have swagger, but they are beautiful." Hearing the inspiration for the show you have to understand the appeal for West, who is all those things. Well, the beautiful part is up for you to decide, but he seems to have a pretty good following.

Oh Lord, it's fashion week. It is finally here, and there are about a million openings, parties, shows and things that are going on 24 hours a day for the next week. Totes 24/7 my man, totes. As Fall Fashion Week arrives in New York City, so too does a world-premiere collection of fashions envisioned, designed, and meticulously executed by Russian-born designer Madina Vadache. Featuring 19 debut designs, including a never-before-seen bridal gown, Ms. Vadache's Spring 2011 collection marks the point at which her artistic vision meets its tangible creation. Through her experimental uses of fabric, texture, and finish, juxtaposed with classic style, her clothing demonstrates a "fascinating and flawless intersection of modern art, architecture, and fashion."
Madina Vadache
Ms. Vadache was born in Dagestan, Russia, and trained at the Academy of Fine Art in the Republic of Georgia; she now lives and works in New York City and Seattle. Yuliya Suleymanova
The exhibition is free and open to the public from September 3rd to October 2nd, Noon - 6pm, Wednesday - Saturday. Betsy White, Madina Vadache

Over the weekend in beautiful Bridgehampton, David Yurman hosted a luncheon for his friends at Grand Prix Sunday at the Hamptons Classic. Not only is the Hamptons Classic one of the largest, most anticipated outdoor shows in the United States, but it also provides New York's elite with one of the last chances to mingle before settling back into the city for the fall season. In 2009, the Hampton Classic became only the second horse show ever to receive the status of Heritage Competition by the United States Equestrian Federation. This prestigious status is reserved for competitions that have been in existence for at least 25 years and have provided for their communities as well as the horse community as a whole in an unprecedented fashion. Guests at the luncheon included Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Christie Brinkley, Alan Lieberman, Diane Lieberman, Brook Milstein, ... Read More

Last night at BoConcept, the beautiful and talented Amber De Vos celebrated the opening of her very first solo show with a reception hosted by Patrick McMullan. Who is Amber De Vos, you ask? You can find the model/actress/fire juggling beauty around town shooting for Patrick McMullan at social events and art openings with her trademark striking red lipstick. She commands both sides of the camera and the show gave her a chance to show off her true passion and artistic skill. The lovely Ms. De Vos also held a raffle to benefit the Slide Luck Youth Initiative where she is a director.
