It was a dark and stormy night …

Actually, it was a bleak and gloomy early Saturday afternoon.

I was on a train, headed towards the deep dark wilds of Yonkers.

(How bleak and gloomy was it?)

Bleak and gloomy enough to obscure whether the foliage zooming past my window was at "Peak" or "Past-Peak" levels of decay.

Somewhat like my life.

(Cue violins)

The reason for my escape from Manhattan was actually brightly hued. (And, yes, I will stop with this tired autumnal imagery, as of NOW.) My dear longtime friend, Dr. Kohle Yohannan, was having a crowd up for a pre-Halloween luncheon at his home, a certain Chateau Fleurs de Lys ... or was it Greystone Court? I knew the name of the abode was SOMETHING grand, pretentious and hilariously tongue-in-cheek… just like the proprietor himself.

Initially, I assumed that Kohle was just having a laugh with the house’s ... Read More

You’ll need a sense of humor & sense of irony to appreciate this report from one of our photographers, Nick Papananias:

"The models did not want me to identify them in the pictures I took of them! Am I crazy and/or stupid to assume that usually models like having their names associated with pictures taken of them? Isn’t this the means by which they are separated from the pack? Isn’t this what makes them a valuable commodity? Isn’t this what leads to fame and fortune?

At the "Vogue"/DVF/Samsung event, the models were wearing DVF (Diane Von Furstenberg) and holding the phones. After I took the photos, I would ask the subject whether they wanted me to use their name or just identify them as "model". One of them gave me her name, then, later, told me to pick a good picture ... Read More

Happily, the news is all good.

An automobile crashed into the motorcycle on which Marc and another person were riding.  This calamity occurred on Sunday, October 17th in Central London.  Marc was thrown from the bike and sustained head injuries, even though he was wearing a helmet.  He was originally fighting for his life after emergency surgery. Though still in intensive care, his original critical state was elevated to stable almost immediately.  As I’ve said before, he’s a wee one, but mighty tough.
